Seattle isn’t the oldest or biggest city on the west coast, but we think it’s easily the
coolest. We’re known for a lot of things: the historic Pike Place Market, the Space Needle,
coffee, grunge, startup companies, and being a major tech hub. Atlas Networks was a spinout of
Atlas Accelerator, a venture incubator responsible for supporting hundreds of startups including
some big names you’d recognize.
Atlas Accelerator started an annual party in 2008 to celebrate
the startup world, that party was called
“Fajanza” and may have been best known for some of the
crazy t-shirts we handed out. It’s a little known fact that Mike Crill, Atlas Accelerator’s
founder, has claimed the term “Woo Hoo!” wasn’t inspired by the late Seattle bank brand; it
actually came about as the tech community’s reaction to Fajanza over the years. We just never
trademarked it.
